Offering CEUs

Salish Kootenai College Department of Academic Success provides Continuing Education Units (hours) for educational events, such as conferences, workshops, and trainings. These events can be for personal or professional development.

  • Examples of professionals who may be required to take CEU’s to maintain their certificate(s) or license(s) to practice are; nurses, educators, fitness trainers, ironworkers, electricians, social workers, lawyers, engineers, CPA’s, and other such professionals. The number of CEUs/Hours required varies by state and profession. Do we want to add OPI’s in this?

Each CEU represents 10 contact hours of participation in an organized community education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instructors. Community Education, as used in this definition, includes all learning experiences in organized formats that impact noncredit education to individuals who meet participation requirements. These properties of Community Education may be applied equally under the system regardless of the teaching-learning format, program duration, and source of sponsorship, subject matter, level, audience, or purpose.

Each participant will be given a certificate reflecting:

  • Name of the conference, workshop or training
  • Name of participant
  • Continuing education units & hours
  • Date of conference

If your department is holding or attending an educational event, Salish Kootenai College would be honored to provide Continuing Education Units.

If you have any questions or would like to request CEU’s, please contact Terri Cordier @ 406.275.4792 or terri_cordier@skc.edu.
